Compleat Food Group Projects
Compleat Food Group Projects: Scope of Works
Interkey Contracting delivered a comprehensive package of specialist construction works for Compleat Food Group, supporting critical infrastructure upgrades within a live food production environment. Acting with careful consideration for operational continuity, hygiene compliance and safe delivery, we coordinated multiple workstreams across the site to enhance utility infrastructure, production environments and supporting facilities.
The project included fuel pipe trenching and installation works, involving trench excavation, reinforced ducting and the safe installation of new fuel supply pipelines. This scope also incorporated the isolation of existing services, mechanical pipe installation, pressure testing and full surface reinstatement, all carefully phased to avoid disruption to live site operations.
In key production areas, we removed and replaced ageing white walling systems with new high-impact, food-grade hygienic panels. These upgrades improved washdown performance, enhanced durability and supported strict food safety compliance standards, including HACCP and BRCGS requirements.
Interkey Contracting also delivered specialist cleaning services to all construction-affected zones. This included high-level dust removal, floor scrubbing, surface sanitisation and post-works certification to ensure all areas were fully hygiene compliant and production-ready ahead of handover.
Further works involved internal and external drainage system upgrades, including the installation of stainless steel gullies, polymer channels and underground pipework. These systems were designed to improve wastewater management, maintain hygiene standards and integrate efficiently with the site’s existing drainage infrastructure.
To support increased energy demand across the facility, we delivered the design and build of a new thermal boiler house. This element of the project included structural steel framing, insulated cladding, M&E connections, ventilation systems and compliance with current energy efficiency requirements.
The project also included the installation and commissioning of new bunded storage tanks for water, oil and fuel. Works covered ground preparation, bund construction, mechanical installation, pipework integration, safety systems and pressure and integrity testing to meet relevant compliance standards.
Delivered over a 28-week programme with a project value of £3.7 million, this scheme demonstrates Interkey Contracting’s capability to manage complex construction and infrastructure packages in sensitive, live food manufacturing environments.
Key Aspects:
Live Food Environment Delivery: Construction works carefully phased and coordinated to maintain operational continuity within an active food production facility.
Utility Infrastructure Upgrades: Fuel pipe trenching, new pipeline installation, service isolations, pressure testing and reinstatement delivered with safety and minimal disruption.
Hygienic Walling Replacement: Removal and replacement of ageing wall systems with food-grade hygienic panels to improve durability, washdown capability and food safety compliance.
Specialist Construction Cleaning: Deep cleaning of all work zones, including dust removal, sanitisation and certification, ensuring production-readiness at handover.
Drainage Improvements: Installation of upgraded internal and external drainage systems, including stainless steel gullies, polymer channels and below-ground pipework.
Thermal Boiler House Construction: Design and build of a new boiler house with structural steelwork, cladding, ventilation and M&E integration to support site energy demand.
Tank Installation and Commissioning: New bunded water, oil and fuel storage tanks installed and tested, including associated civils, pipework and safety systems.
