Leicester University Multi-storey Car Park: Scope of Works

Interkey Contracting was engaged to deliver the design and installation of a complex substructure and bespoke aluminium powder-coated cladding system for the new reinforced concrete (RC) multi-storey car park at Leicester University. The project involved detailed planning, precise manufacturing, and expert installation of advanced cladding systems to enhance functionality, durability, and aesthetic appeal.

Key Project Aspects:

Full Cladding System: Comprehensive design, manufacture, and installation of a robust cladding and support framework securely integrated into the precast concrete structure of the car park, ensuring structural integrity and longevity.

Aluminium Panel Installation: Expert installation of 2200 pre-fabricated aluminium panels throughout all levels of the car park, complemented by high-quality mesh systems. Additional installations included powder-coated cladding to the external walls of the bottom level, enhancing protection and visual impact.

Safety & Accessibility Features: Provision and installation of essential safety and accessibility elements, including handrails, cat ladders, and protective mesh around lift shafts, meeting all relevant safety and regulatory requirements.
